For our laboratory at the Vevey site, we are looking for a mechanic.

Mechanic

Your mission:

• Prepare and carry out the assembly of complete turbine models (mainly Pelton and pump-turbines) and components tested in the hydraulic laboratory in collaboration with test engineers, mechanical design engineers and the hydraulic design team
• Dimensional control and validation of mechanical parts of the models
• Participate in activities related to the maintenance, operation and development of the laboratory infrastructure (building, workshop, test and research platforms)
• Continuous participation in improvements on model design and assembly procedures
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at work
• Train and supervise interns and apprentices

Your profile:

• Federal VET Diploma as a polymechanic or automation technician or equivalent qualification
• 3 years of experience as an external assembler in the mechanical construction field, ideally in hydraulic turbines
• Specific knowledge of our sector of activity
• Dynamic personality, persuasive, autonomous, flexible and reliable
• Open-minded and able to handle emergency situations constructively
• Native French speaker with good knowledge of English. German is an asset
• Knowledge of the MS Office environment
