For an established IT service provider in the enterprise environment, we are looking for an experienced DevOps / System Engineer with a focus on Kubernetes and OpenShift. In this role, you will work on demanding large-scale projects with highly available platforms, support modern software teams in operating distributed systems, and actively shape DevOps processes. You can expect a technologically challenging environment with long-term projects, stability, and great scope for creativity at the Bern location.

Your Tasks

Collaborate in the DevOps team to successfully implement complex enterprise and large-scale projects
Build, operate, and further develop container and platform infrastructures (Kubernetes / OpenShift)
Support development teams with CI/CD, deployment, and operational processes
Automate infrastructure and operational tasks
Ensure stability, performance, and availability of productive systems
Contribute to monitoring, logging, and observability solutions
Work closely with software engineering, architecture, and operations

Our Requirements

Completed studies in computer science, systems engineering, or a comparable qualification
At least 5 years of professional experience in DevOps, system engineering, or platform operations
Very good knowledge of Kubernetes and/or OpenShift, including configuration and operation
Experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures
Practical experience with container technologies such as Docker
Basic knowledge of message brokers (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Experience with common DevOps tools and toolchains such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, Splunk, Jira, and Confluence
Interest in DevOps automation, e.g. with Python and Ansible
Ideally, knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Instana or Grafana
Understanding of API technologies (OpenAPI, API Gateways) is an advantage
Independent, structured, and quality-oriented working style
Fluent German skills (at least B2) as well as good English skills
