About the job
As the head of the IVF/Andrology laboratory, you will take responsibility for a central area of the Clinic for Reproductive Endocrinology and the university fertility centre. Together with your team of around eight employees, you will make a significant contribution to the clinical care of our patients as well as to the innovative further development of the laboratory at the highest level.

Your main tasks
Management of the IVF and Andrology laboratory with professional and operational responsibility.
Ensuring the highest quality and safety standards in laboratory operations.
Performing all relevant embryological procedures, such as:
Leadership and management tasks
Science and innovation
Ensuring the highest quality and safety standards in laboratory operations.
Performing all relevant embryological procedures, such as:
- Oocyte search (oocyte identification)
- IVF and ICSI treatments
- Cultivation of gametes, pronuclear stages and embryos
- Embryo transfers
- Embryo biopsies for PGT
- Cryopreservation and thawing of gametes, embryos and gonadal tissue
- Sperm analyses and sperm preparation
Leadership and management tasks
- Professional and personnel leadership of the laboratory team
- Personnel planning as well as promotion and development of employees
- Responsibility for workflows, resource planning and capacity management
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements, guidelines and standards (FMedG, ISO, ESHRE guidelines)
- Strategic further development of the laboratory within the overall clinic
- Responsibility for quality management, documentation and audits
- Budget and procurement responsibility for the laboratory area
Science and innovation
- Promotion of scientific projects and clinical research
- Implementation of new technologies and innovative procedures
- Collaboration with national and international professional societies
- Presentation of research results at professional congresses desirable
- Support of university teaching and training tasks
Your profile
- Completed university degree in biology, biomedicine, life sciences or related natural sciences
- Comprehensive knowledge of assisted reproductive technologies (ART)
- Several years of extensive and practical experience in an IVF/Andrology laboratory
- Several years of leadership experience in an IVF/Andrology laboratory or proven suitability for taking on a management role
- Experience in quality management and accredited laboratory environments
- ESHRE certification as Clinical Embryologist is an advantage
- Very good German and English skills, spoken and written
- PhD in reproductive biology, developmental biology, biomedicine or a comparable field is desirable
