In this position, you develop, programme, and optimise sophisticated automation solutions for logistics systems and oversee their successful implementation at the customer. You independently carry out commissioning, analyse complex technical challenges, and ensure reliable operation of the systems. As a technical contact, you maintain customer relationships, support the support team, and contribute your expertise to the continuous improvement of modern logistics processes.
Responsibilities:
Programming and adapting PLC controls for automated logistics and conveyor systems according to technical specifications
Independent execution of commissioning within demanding automation projects
Creation and adaptation of hardware concepts for smaller projects, expansions, and retrofit measures
Analysis, localisation, and sustainable resolution of complex faults in customer systems
Optimisation of existing control and automation solutions to increase system availability and efficiency
Collaboration in the technical support team for prompt and reliable handling of customer inquiries
Building and maintaining long-term customer relationships through technical advice and support
Conducting training for operational and maintenance personnel at the customer site
Supporting the further development of automation standards and logistics solutions
Qualifications:
Completed higher technical education in automation, electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification as an automation technician with willingness to continue education
Professional experience in automation technology and industrial plant environments
Solid knowledge in the Siemens SIMATIC environment with Step7 and TIA Portal or very good experience with EPLAN P8
Experience in PLC programming with AWL, knowledge of SCL is an advantage
Practical knowledge in drive technology with systems from SEW/Siemens
Experience with industrial bus systems such as Profinet, ASi bus and IO-Link
Experience in commissioning complex plants and control systems
Willingness for regular on-call duty according to deployment planning
High team orientation as well as independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
Interest in holistic logistics processes beyond pure software development
Good English and/or French skills are an advantage
Fluent German skills
