Head of Finance and Accounting (m/f/d)

Role:
In this role, you will shape a modern finance and accounting department where a self-developed ERP and Abacus work optimally together. You analyse existing processes and IT landscapes, identify improvement potentials, and drive the introduction of contemporary applications that also specifically utilise AI. You are responsible for the further development of efficient, lean processes that meet the requirements of an uncomplicated business model. You work closely with IT to pragmatically implement technical solutions. Willingness to learn, initiative, and the desire to question and improve existing practices are the focus of this leadership role.
Responsibilities:
- You lead your team in finance and accounting through monthly reporting, cost analyses, debt collection, dunning, and annual financial statements.
- In this role, you coordinate collaboration with external tax and financial advisors as well as customs clearance offices.
- You develop clear work instructions for finance-related issues after appropriate clarification.
- As Head of Finance and Accounting, you independently take on diverse finance and accounting tasks.
Qualifications:
- Commercial training with further education in finance and accounting as well as solid knowledge of accounting principles
- Confident understanding of the connections up to the monthly accrued profit and loss account and balance sheet; willingness to familiarise yourself with consolidation
- Proficient use of common accounting software (ideally Abacus) as well as very good MS Office and Excel skills
- Experience at senior level in finance and accounting, ideally in responsible accounting functions
- Experience in an SME environment and enjoyment in pragmatically solving diverse issues
- Openness to specifically using modern tools and AI solutions in finance and accounting
