About the job
You take on a central role in building a professional IT procurement and supplier control function. You create the conditions to ensure that external services are procured and managed economically, legally compliant, and controllable in the long term.
The function is currently being established. You develop viable processes and structures and implement them simultaneously in day-to-day operations. In doing so, you work closely with internal departments, contract management, and our external partners.
Since significant parts of our IT value creation are provided by external partners, procurement and supplier control are of great importance to IGS. You ensure clear decision-making bases, binding procedures, and effective control.
What you achieve
Public IT Procurement
You build and further develop the procurement processes of IGS.
You independently plan and conduct public tenders and ensure that legal requirements are met while the procedures are implemented efficiently and practically.
You accompany the entire procurement process from clarifying requirements through tendering and evaluation to awarding the contract.
For the subsequent contract management, you prepare a clear and complete handover to contract management. You keep an eye on cost-effectiveness, traceability, and long-term controllability.
Supplier Control
You develop the foundations for systematic control of our suppliers and implement these in daily operations.
You create transparency about services, costs, and dependencies, agree on clear expectations, and support reliable further development of collaboration.
You bring together different interests, provide orientation, and lead decisions with expertise, clear arguments, and economic understanding.
Why you succeed
Solid practical experience in public procurement and independent conduct of tenders
Experience in procurement and ideally in supplier management
Knowledge of the IT environment as well as an understanding of IT services, cloud models, and licensing structures are advantageous
Ability to consolidate different interests, create clear decision bases, and drive projects forward decisively
High personal responsibility, structured working style, and strong implementation skills
Enjoyment in building a new function and combining conceptual work with operational implementation
Very good German skills; additional languages are an advantage
We offer
High scope for shaping the development of a central function
Short decision-making paths and a lot of personal responsibility
A hands-on working environment with high professionalism and strong team spirit
Flexible working time models, home office options, and modern offices in a central location in St. Gallen
