To strengthen the team in the quality management area, we are looking for our client at the Winterthur location - a globally leading traditional company in highly complex industrial and mechanical engineering - for a committed, conscientious, and professionally skilled individual as Quality Engineer / Quality Assurance Engineer - Compressors (m/f/d).
In this role, you take responsibility for the quality-related handling, documentation, and acceptance of demanding international customer projects and ensure compliance with the highest technical standards and regulatory requirements.

Start date: Immediate / ASAP
Duration: Fixed term (01.09.2026 - 30.04.2027)
Workplace: Winterthur
Workload: 50% (on average approx. 86.6 hours per month)
Home office: Presence on site in Winterthur required during onboarding. Afterwards, a flexible home office share is regularly possible by arrangement.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Independent quality handling: Autonomous support of quality assurance for compressors and their components including testing, comprehensive documentation, and interface coordination.
Specification & standards testing: Ensuring compliance with all relevant specifications (customer requirements, regulatory authority requirements, and international classification societies). This also includes detailed examination of related documents such as EN 10204 factory certificates including ZP and ZFP certificates.
Inspection & customer support: Organisation, invitation, and professional support of external inspectors, certification bodies, and international customers during audits and factory acceptance tests.
Quality documentation: Preparation, careful processing, and timely provision of the required quality documents for demanding customer projects.
Process & guideline compliance: Participation in defining and ensuring compliance and currency of local quality regulations, work instructions, and internal processes.
Continuous optimisation: Active participation and partial leadership of optimisation projects to identify improvement potentials and sustainably implement quality measures.
Knowledge & Requirements (Must-Haves)
Education: Completed technical basic training in mechanical or plant engineering; targeted further training in quality management is an advantage.
Professional experience: Several years of practical experience in quality control or quality assurance in an industrial production or mechanical engineering environment is advantageous.
Expertise: Knowledge in material testing (e.g. non-destructive / destructive testing) as well as handling technical product documentation is advantageous.
Standards & regulations: Experience with the requirements of international classification societies and regulatory guidelines is advantageous.
IT skills: Confident handling of common MS Office applications; experience with SAP is advantageous.
Language skills: Very good German skills in spoken and written form (mandatory); good English skills for international communication.
Personality: Independent, assertive, structured, and team-oriented personality with high quality awareness.
