Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced Construction Manager Building Construction for the realisation of a demanding large-scale project in the Biel area. You will take over the local site management and control the execution in terms of quality, costs, and deadlines within a professional general contractor/subcontractor environment. Your main tasks include tendering, scheduling, cost controlling, measurement, and contractor billing as well as coordinating all project participants. From the execution phase to acceptance, commissioning, and handover, you ensure a structured and high-quality construction process.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the local site management of a demanding large-scale building construction project and management of the executing companies
Ensuring the defined quality, schedule, and cost targets throughout the entire execution phase
Creation and ongoing updating of construction schedule, tendering, plan delivery, commissioning, acceptance, and handover schedules
Preparation and processing of contractor tenders, obtaining and reviewing offers, and supporting awarding decisions
Management of site and cost controlling including review of claims and ongoing cost forecasts
Preparation and control of measurements and contractor invoices as well as verification of completed services
Organisation and leadership of planning, construction, and coordination meetings including minute-taking and action item management
Coordination of interfaces between architecture, specialist planning, building services, and executing trades
Conducting acceptances with contractors, client, and authorities as well as organising and controlling defect rectification
Responsibility for project-related quality management and documentation of completed construction services
Ensuring compliance with site safety and occupational health and safety requirements and adherence to relevant legal regulations
Qualifications:
Completed construction or architecture-related vocational training, ideally supplemented by further training as Construction Manager HFP, Architect FH, or Construction Engineer FH
Several years of professional experience in managing demanding building construction projects, ideally in a general contractor/subcontractor environment
Sound knowledge of tendering, measurement, site and cost controlling, and contractor billing
Very good knowledge of scheduling, execution coordination, acceptance, and defect management
Knowledge of relevant SIA standards, contract law basics, and Swiss construction and occupational safety regulations
Experience in coordinating contractors, specialist planners, and building services trades on larger construction projects
Very good German language skills spoken and written
