Head of the Legal Support Unit

The Legal Support Unit of the Directorate General for Childhood and Youth (DGEJ) is seeking its new Unit Head, who will join the service's operations council and manage a team of 7 colleagues.

• Ensure the fulfilment of the mission of the Legal Support Unit;

• Lead your team and collaborate with all units and other offices of the service;

• Provide the necessary legal expertise and support for the functioning of the service and its management bodies;

• As a member of the Operations Council, you contribute to the operational management of the service in your area of expertise and participate, by invitation, in the Management Board when the matters dealt with require legal expertise;

• Undertake specific tasks such as strengthening relations with judicial authorities or participating in working groups.

• University Master’s degree in law or equivalent qualification;

• Management training preferred;

• Several years of experience in the legal field and in team management;

• Knowledge of the field of child protection is a real asset;

• Strong leadership, decisiveness and determination, delegation skills, self-control in stress management;

• Conflict management skills, good listening and communication;

• Sense of responsibility and public service ethics, adaptability and flexibility.
