About the job
Would you like to provide psychological support to older people with mental illnesses and work closely with an experienced interprofessional team? On ward 23.1 of the acute psychiatric geriatric unit, you will find a varied working environment with people aged 65 and over who suffer from affective disorders such as depression or bipolar disorders, psychotic symptoms or other conditions such as addiction disorders. Another focus is on the treatment of chronic schizophrenia, which presents particular challenges in older age.
In your role as an assistant psychologist, you will contribute your psychological expertise to the interprofessional collaboration and actively participate in the diagnosis, treatment and care of our patients. You will have the opportunity to further develop your professional skills and, together with the treatment team, to design individual and holistic therapeutic approaches.
Your tasks
- You will take case responsibility in close cooperation with the interprofessional team
- You will be responsible for reporting and networking with relatives, authorities and external agencies
- You will actively contribute your knowledge to the interprofessional team
- You can expect a varied, interesting field of work on an acute ward with a wide range of different psychiatric disorders in older people
- You will be responsible for admitting newly admitted patients
- You will conduct psychiatric-psychotherapeutic treatments in individual and group settings
- You will receive regular intervisions and supervisions from the senior psychologists or senior physicians in charge
- You can complete your psychotherapy training with us – we will actively support you in this
Your profile
- You have a completed Master’s degree in Psychology and have preferably already started your recognised postgraduate psychotherapy training
- You have an interest in and enjoy contact with older people and appreciate the challenges on a crisis intervention ward
- You like to take responsibility, are decisive and like to contribute your own ideas
