University Clinic for Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

from 1 December 2026 or by arrangement

The Freiburghaus ward is a specialised clinical unit of the University Clinic for Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy with a focus on psychotherapeutic treatment, especially according to the CBASP model. During the night, the focus of nursing work is on ensuring safety, stability and as calm an atmosphere as possible for the patients. The night watch accompanies people with various mental burdens, including trauma-related disorders and sleep disorders, and supports them during nocturnal crises, anxieties or sleep problems. Through regular observations, individual conversations and nursing interventions, the night watch helps to maintain the therapeutic milieu and support treatment success. A respectful approach, the promotion of orientation and security, as well as continuous collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team are central.

Your tasks

• You ensure professional, empathetic and individual nursing care during the night
• You work in pairs on the ward and support other wards if necessary.
• You take responsibility for the safety and well-being of our patients and act calmly and thoughtfully even in crisis situations
• You independently carry out the nursing process and ensure continuous, high-quality documentation
• You work closely with the interdisciplinary day team and ensure smooth information flow
• You actively participate in the further development of nursing concepts and contribute your experience to the team work

Your profile

• You hold a diploma as a nursing specialist HF/FH or health specialist EFZ
• You have experience or interest in night work and bring a high degree of personal responsibility and reliability
• You are characterised by professional competence, empathy and self-confidence even in demanding situations
• You work independently, responsibly and with a good sense of the needs of our patients
• You bring a positive attitude, team spirit and a touch of humour to your professional everyday life
