For an established, owner-managed freight forwarding company in the Basel region, we are looking for an experienced individual who not only dispatches international truck transports but actively thinks along with and further develops the business.

We are not looking for a classic salesperson nor someone who merely passes on tasks. You work directly at the pulse of events, know the needs of the customers, and recognise where a new order can develop from a conversation. At the same time, you reliably keep an eye on drivers, shipments, deadlines, costs, and documents.

Your tasks

• You dispatch international land transports, record shipments in the forwarding system, and carefully maintain customer, partner, and address data. In daily contact with customers, drivers, and transport partners, you ensure clear processes, reliable information, and sustainable solutions
• The freight exchange TIMOCOM is part of your daily work tools. You procure freight space, check offers, calculate daily prices, and assist in preparing quotations
• An important part of your task is the care of existing customers. You should not simply remain an anonymous voice from dispatch but be perceived as a competent and reliable contact person. At the same time, you enjoy winning additional shipments and building new customer relationships
• You know the basic customs clearance mechanisms between Switzerland and the EU and know which documents are required for smooth processing. There are also some transports with Turkey
• After training, you prepare evaluations of shipment volumes, effort, and revenue and provide the management with well-founded decision-making bases. If necessary, you also support billing and prepare invoices yourselfIf a company fleet is to be built up again in the future, you will also take on organisational tasks around MFK, workshop, and deployment appointments as well as monitoring driving and rest times

Your profile

• You have several years of experience in the forwarding industry, preferably in the dispatch of international truck transports. You know from your own practice what dispatching means and can quickly take responsibility after careful introduction
• You work in a structured, economical, and solution-oriented manner. Even at a high pace, you keep an overview and appear friendly, reliable, and assertive towards drivers, partners, and customers
• You are not too proud to pitch in where necessary. In a manageable company, short distances, mutual support, and the willingness to actually take responsibility count
• We are explicitly not looking for a career starter but an experienced personality with a hands-on mentality, entrepreneurial thinking, and a sure sense of customer needs.

Your perspective

• This position is deliberately not intended as a pure dispatcher role. Those who prove themselves, build trust, and advance the company professionally and economically can gradually take on additional responsibility
• The long-term goal is to develop a personality for freight forwarding management who reliably leads daily business, relieves management, and co-develops new transport routes, customer relationships, and partnerships.
