Tasks
Creating cleanliness: Your main task is to operate the flushing vehicle and manually control the cleaning nozzles. In addition, you steer and control other vehicles and equipment and support the entire team.
Maintaining versatility: Furthermore, you are responsible for flushing and vacuuming the inlet shafts and sludge collectors as well as for general cleaning and inspection tasks related to the maintenance of the wastewater sewer.
Taking responsibility: You take responsibility for the functioning of the municipal wastewater facilities and occasionally enter shafts and pipeline sections of the sewer system. You enjoy working outdoors and have no fear of heights.
Profile
Experience: Ideally, you have already worked in wastewater management or are willing to gain initial professional experience in this field.
Personality: You are committed, flexible, communicative and motivated to work appropriately in an unusual workplace. We expect a high level of dedication as well as willingness to work night shifts.
Training: You hold a category C truck driving licence and have several years of experience as a driver. Ideally, you have completed a vocational training and have already gained professional experience in a craft-oriented environment.

The Civil Engineering Office coordinates, plans, constructs, documents and maintains the roads with the associated infrastructures and is responsible for the public wastewater facilities. It is responsible for flood protection and safe traffic routes. It also coordinates the use of public spaces and is the lead authority in the approval process. It collects and disposes of waste and ensures cleanliness in the city of Basel. The Civil Engineering Office makes an important contribution to a high quality of life in Basel and is part of the Department of Construction and Transport.
