About the job
Geriatrics at the Cantonal Hospital Baden is an A-level training centre specialising in geriatrics and part of the Department of Internal Medicine. Annually, over 800 patients are treated as inpatients in acute geriatric rehabilitation, around 300 patients are assessed in the interdisciplinary memory clinic, and more than 300 patients receive outpatient advice in the frailty clinic. Since 2026, we have also expanded our services within the framework of a pilot project to include geriatric co-management of patients undergoing visceral surgical procedures. We are seeking a senior physician who will take clinical responsibility and actively contribute to the further development of modern geriatrics. The position is available immediately or by arrangement.

Your Responsibilities
- You will take on the assessment, treatment, and care of patients in acute geriatric inpatient care within an interprofessional team.
- You will evaluate patients in the geriatric clinic as well as in the interdisciplinary memory and frailty clinics.
- You will work closely with colleagues in visceral surgery and participate in the geriatric co-management around visceral surgical procedures.
- You will assume responsibility for the training and education of aspiring geriatricians and support specialists in general internal medicine training as a tutor.
- You will engage in education, further training, and professional development, contributing your expertise to interprofessional exchange.
- You will contribute to the further development of geriatric services and the Department of Internal Medicine, bringing your own ideas.
Your Profile
- You hold a specialist qualification in geriatrics or are close to obtaining it.
- You have several years of clinical experience in geriatrics and are familiar with the requirements of an acute hospital in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- You enjoy working interdisciplinarily and interprofessionally and value collaboration with various specialties.
- You take pleasure in teaching and further training and willingly assume responsibility for the development of doctors in training.
- You communicate clearly and appreciatively, show initiative, and enjoy implementing new ideas together with the team.
- You are interested in the further development of modern geriatric care models and wish to actively shape them.
