For the further expansion of our Regulatory & Compliance division, we are looking for an entrepreneurial-minded specialist and leader who combines profound regulatory expertise with strong customer orientation, visible market presence and active business development.
In this key position, you advise demanding financial institutions, develop employees professionally and further shape our service offering. At the same time, you strategically expand existing customer relationships, win new mandates and represent BDO as a competent voice at specialist events, networking platforms and customer events as well as with presentations and specialist publications.
In this way, you make a decisive contribution to the professional development of our Regulatory & Compliance team, to a continuously filled customer pipeline and to the sustainable growth of BDO.

What you will achieve
Consulting and mandate responsibility
- You advise financial institutions such as banks, securities firms, FinTechs, insurance companies, collective investment schemes, independent asset managers, financial intermediaries on all financial market law and regulatory issues
- You lead demanding consulting projects and mandates and are responsible for their professional quality and economic success
- You are responsible for regulatory issues within the scope of supervisory audits and are a central contact person for our auditors specialised in financial institutions
- You accompany financial institutions in licensing procedures before FINMA, the FMA Liechtenstein and other authorities
- You support clients in audits, investigations and enforcements related to FINMA procedures
- You work interdisciplinarily with our experts from auditing, fiduciary, tax consulting and legal consulting and support them with regulatory issues
- You support employees in their professional development
Market presence and business development
- You monitor regulatory developments and derive new consulting offers and market activities from them
- You position yourself and BDO as a visible and competent contact for Regulatory & Compliance and represent BDO at specialist conferences, networking events and customer events
- You communicate regulatory developments with convincing presentations, specialist articles and practical customer formats.
- You maintain and expand your network, proactively approach existing and potential customers and develop new business opportunities from this
- You expand customer relationships through targeted up- and cross-selling, win new mandates and thus contribute to a sustainable customer pipeline
This is how you succeed
- You have a Master’s degree in law from a Swiss university
- A lawyer’s licence and/or further training such as LL.M., CAS or MAS in the areas of financial market regulation, compliance, risk management or corporate governance are advantageous
- You bring at least eight years of relevant experience in legal, regulatory and/or compliance consulting – ideally in a Big4 or consulting firm
- You have sound knowledge of Swiss financial market regulation, especially in several of the following areas: FIDLEG, FINIG, AMLA, CISA, banking law, insurance supervisory law, cross-border, DLT/blockchain, outsourcing, corporate governance, risk management and internal control system
- Knowledge of Liechtenstein and European financial market regulation is a great plus
- You have proven experience in acquiring, developing and economically managing demanding consulting mandates and are confident in dealing with decision-makers and other demanding stakeholders
- You have strong leadership and coaching skills and know how to build and develop high-performing teams
- You recognise and develop business opportunities with initiative and entrepreneurial flair and take binding responsibility for your mandates, your team and your market activities
- You have a reliable network in the Swiss financial market and enjoy actively maintaining and expanding it
- You convince with professional credibility, customer orientation and acquisition strength, enjoy public appearances and communicate regulatory topics fairly
- You have negotiation-level German skills at C1/C2 level as well as very good English skills; French and/or Italian skills are advantageous
