Role:
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Construction Manager Building Construction for the realisation of demanding building construction projects in the Zurich area. You will take on the local site management within a professional general contractor/subcontractor environment and be responsible for the operational control of execution regarding quality, deadlines, and costs. Your main tasks include contractor tendering, scheduling, site management and cost controlling, measurement, and contractor billing. From site coordination to commissioning, acceptance, and handover, you ensure a structured and high-quality project execution.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the local site management of demanding building construction projects as well as coordination of executing companies and trades
Ensuring the defined quality, schedule, and cost targets throughout the entire execution phase
Creation and ongoing updating of construction schedules, tendering, plan delivery, commissioning, acceptance, and handover schedules
Preparation and processing of contractor tenders as well as support with offer comparisons, awards, and contractor negotiations
Management of site and cost controlling including monitoring of additional services and change orders
Preparation and verification of measurements, contractor invoices, and bills as well as control of services rendered
Organisation and leadership of planning, construction, and coordination meetings including minute-taking and action item management
Coordination of interfaces between architecture, specialist planning, building services, and executing trades
Responsibility for project-related quality management as well as control of contract- and plan-compliant construction execution
Conducting acceptances with contractors, clients, and authorities as well as coordination and control of defect rectification
Ensuring compliance with applicable site safety and occupational health regulations and adherence to relevant legal requirements
Qualifications:
Completed construction or architecture-related vocational training, ideally supplemented by further training as Construction Manager HFP, Architect FH or Civil Engineer FH
Several years of professional experience in site management of building construction projects in Switzerland
Sound knowledge in contractor tendering, measurement, site and cost controlling, and construction billing
Very good knowledge in scheduling, execution coordination, acceptance, and defect management
Good knowledge of relevant SIA standards, contract basics, and Swiss construction processes
Experience in coordinating contractors, specialist planners, and building services trades
Very good German language skills spoken and written
