Freight Traffic Dispatcher (80-100%)

SBB Cargo International is the market leader in European rail freight traffic on the North-South axis. Thanks to our over 1,000 employees in Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and France, we operate around 550 trains weekly from the North Sea ports to Italy and back. In doing so, we shift thousands of net tonnes from road to rail and make an active contribution to greater climate protection.

While other trains pass by, you ensure they run. At the Control Centre Olten, you coordinate and control international freight trains between the North Sea ports and Italy. You keep an overview, make decisions in real time and, together with a team, ensure safe and reliable rail traffic. In a six-month paid training programme, you will learn dispatching from the ground up. Theory, modern control systems and practical assignments prepare you optimally for your role. Career changers are welcome.

Your tasks

You dispatch and monitor international freight trains and coordinate closely with train drivers, control centres and partner railways. In case of deviations, you act confidently, solution-oriented and responsibly. You also take on administrative tasks related to transport processing.

Your profile

You have completed a vocational apprenticeship with a Federal VET Diploma (EFZ) or a comparable qualification. Very good German skills are required. Ideally, you have good Italian or French skills or are willing to learn them. You enjoy working in a team, take responsibility and have good IT user skills. You are also willing to work in a three-shift system.
