What you can look forward to.

As a technician for security systems in the outdoor area, you are responsible for the construction, maintenance and servicing of the diverse security systems such as points, level crossing systems, signals or track vacancy detection systems. In addition, you diagnose faults and independently carry out demanding heavy mechanical work in the outdoor area of the security systems. We are looking for support at these locations in German-speaking Switzerland: Sargans, Olten and Lucerne. Attractive working conditions are important to us, even with irregular working hours. Night and weekend work is additionally compensated with us – for example, 16 francs per hour for Sunday work. You also benefit from time surcharges. This means you have more free time than employees without night and weekend shifts. What you can achieve.

• You independently carry out work in the assembly/disassembly of systems according to the project. Maintenance activities on the security systems in operation (points, signals, track vacancy detection systems, train control, ETCS, point heating) also belong to your area of responsibility.
• You independently perform fault clearance of railway systems within the framework of the on-call organisation.
• You report the work carried out using the latest systems and programmes and assist with updating the documents.

What you bring with you.

• Willingness for on-call duty, night work and weekend work as well as safety training to become a safety officer RTE 20100.
• You must have completed a recognised apprenticeship EFZ as a production mechanic, locksmith, polymechanic or in a similar manual trade.
• Willingness to complete the one-year part-time internal training to become a technician for outdoor security systems. SBB fully covers the time and costs for this.
• A valid category B driving licence as well as very good German language skills in spoken and written form at least at B2 level are required.
