Senior Network/ System Engineer (m/f/d)
Our ROCKEN partner is a thriving, internationally active company with around 330 employees that manufactures high-quality products and services for the construction of electric motors and transformers. Approximately 80 percent of these are exported. Stator and rotor sheets are stamped from electrical steel and assembled into ready-to-install stator and rotor packages using the processes of stamping, welding, baking, riveting, and clamping. In further steps, the rotors are cast in aluminium and the rotor shaft is pressed in.
Role:
In this role, you actively shape modern IT and security landscapes and bring your enthusiasm for networks and technology into your daily work. You take responsibility for a stable, secure network and system security setup and influence its sustainable development. You think in interconnected systems, analyse security requirements, and implement appropriate technical solutions. Additionally, you contribute to continuously optimising existing structures and purposefully integrating new technologies. Whether you already have extensive experience or are at the beginning of your career, you use this position to continuously expand your expertise in network, system, and security engineering.
Responsibilities:
- You operate, design, and optimise our network and server infrastructure (Cisco, Aruba, Sophos).
- In this role, you plan and implement WAN/LAN/WLAN/VLAN structures, firewalls, DMZ, and VPN solutions.
- As a network and system security technician, you operate and expand the virtualised server environment based on VMware.
- You implement security policies and technical designs, support awareness training, and contribute to building an ISMS according to ISO/IATF/TISAX.
- In this role, you work with modern security tools such as Tenable Nessus, SentinelOne, and Claroty xDome to strengthen infrastructure security.
- You manage certificates (TLS) and implement proven encryption technologies such as BitLocker, AES, and SSL.
Qualifications:
- Completed training in IT system technology/platform development EFZ or a higher professional qualification (HF/FH)
- Solid basic understanding of network engineering as well as interest in IT security and network design
- Practical experience in production or industrial environments is an advantage
- Profound knowledge of Cisco, Aruba, firewalling, VLAN, and routing
- Experience with Microsoft Server (Windows, Exchange, SQL, ADFS), ideally complemented by Linux know-how
- Openness to working with new security tools and technologies as well as willingness for on-call duty and planned deployments
