About the job
During this three-year training, you will learn the diverse activities of a certified Biomedical Analyst HF in theoretical blocks at the Careum Education Centre in Zurich and through practical work at the Schaffhausen hospitals. Recruitment begins with the examination as part of the admission procedure at the Careum Education Centre. This is followed by a four-day aptitude internship at the Schaffhausen hospitals. What to Expect
- Clinical Chemistry: Performing clinical-chemical analyses with modern chemistry and immunochemistry machines
- Haematology: Counting different blood cells, differentiating them microscopically and performing coagulation analyses
- Microbiology: Preparing and processing microbiological test material, differentiating germs and evaluating antibiograms
- Immunohaematology: Determining blood group antigens and checking all prerequisites for blood transfusions

What You Bring to Us
- Completion of secondary level II: Federal VET diploma (at least three years of training), specialised middle school certificate, Matura or completion of Rudolf Steiner School with IMS-F certificate
- Scientific prior knowledge (chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics); these skills can also be acquired or refreshed after passing the aptitude test
