Head Physician Pathology

The Institute of Pathology at Spital Thurgau AG at the Cantonal Hospital Münsterlingen is a central part of medical care in the canton of Thurgau. It provides comprehensive diagnostic services for inpatient and outpatient patients and is closely integrated into interdisciplinary tumour centres as well as clinical decision-making processes.

Head Physician Pathology

As part of a generational change and the future orientation of the institute, we are looking for a committed, professionally competent and strong leadership personality from 1 April 2027 or by arrangement.

You will take on

• Active shaping and further development of the Institute of Pathology in close cooperation with the institute management
• Independent macroscopic and histopathological diagnostics
• Frozen section examinations
• Professional and personnel responsibility for defined sub-areas
• Active participation and involvement in interdisciplinary tumour boards and tumour centres
• Supervision and training of assistant doctors
• Participation in quality assurance measures as well as in the further development of diagnostic standards and processes
• Commitment to clinical projects, possibly research and networking with referrers

You bring with you

• Specialist title in pathology (FMH or equivalent recognised by MEBEKO)
• Several years of diagnostic experience in the entire spectrum of pathology
• Subspecialisation in a subfield of pathology (cytology/molecular pathology) is an advantage
• Experience in a professional leadership role, ideally with initial administrative responsibility
• Strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
• Commitment and enjoyment in the training, further education and development of medical junior staff
• Structured, independent and quality-oriented working style
• Strong social skills, teamwork and communication skills
• Very good knowledge of German (at least B2)
