Complex IT platforms, virtualisation and automation are your specialities? Here awaits a technically demanding environment where infrastructure is not only operated but continuously developed as a strategic platform.
Responsibilities:
Technical conception and further development of an enterprise infrastructure platform
Engineering of modern on-premise and private cloud environments
Building and optimisation of virtualised server and desktop landscapes
Platform responsibility for the central virtualisation environment
Further development of VMware Cloud Foundation and NSX
Planning and implementation of lifecycle, upgrade and migration strategies
Design and optimisation of compute, storage and network resources
Integration of various infrastructure services into a holistic platform architecture
Development of standardised solutions for efficient and secure operation
Automation of infrastructure processes with Terraform and Ansible
Investigation of complex faults and performance issues
Planning of future capacities and resources
Improvement of availability, security and data integrity
Collaboration with cloud, network, security and infrastructure specialists
Creation of technical concepts and documentation
Qualifications:
Several years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering or platform engineering
Very good knowledge of virtualisation and private cloud technologies
Solid experience with VMware or Broadcom VCF
Knowledge of VMware NSX
Experience with enterprise storage such as vSAN, SAN/FC, block storage, filers or S3
Understanding of modern data centre architectures
Experience with Terraform, Ansible or comparable automation technologies
Experience with Cisco Intersight is a plus
High security awareness in architecture and operation
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
Independent and structured working style
Very good German skills as well as good English skills
Willingness to occasionally perform maintenance and on-call duties
