About the job
"APS – Allianz der Produzent:innen Schweiz / Alliance des producteur·rice·s suisses / Alleanza dei produttori e delle produttrici svizzeri" is the new national professional association of independent film producers in Switzerland. It also includes directors and screenwriters. The association defends the interests of its members with authorities, film support institutions, television channels, political bodies, and administration. It is committed to favourable framework conditions for independent production, effective support instruments, and a strong professional network, both in Switzerland and internationally.
The management ensures the daily operational running of the association and supports the co-presidency in fulfilling its responsibilities. It also represents APS with political authorities, film support institutions, media, and industry partners. In this capacity, it actively contributes to establishing the structures and processes necessary for developing a strong new association.
The workplace is to be defined and will be determined jointly with the future general director as part of setting up the association.
The starting date is planned immediately or at an agreed date.
Your tasks
Management and organisation of the association
- Ensure the management of the secretariat.
- Implement the strategic directions defined by the presidency and the committee.
- Prepare committee meetings and general assemblies, draft minutes, and ensure follow-up on decisions.
- Coordinate working groups, specialised commissions, and committee seminars.
Advocacy, external representation, and networking
- Defend and represent the association’s interests with political bodies, authorities – notably the Federal Office of Culture (FOC) – film support institutions, and other relevant decision-makers.
- Develop and implement an advocacy strategy focusing on public funding, support instruments, improving production conditions, and Switzerland’s competitiveness as a film production location.
- Organise professional events, notably within the framework of the Locarno Film Festival, Solothurn Film Days, Zurich Film Festival, and other industry events.
- Represent the association within working groups and commissions of specialised bodies, in coordination with the committee.
- Develop and maintain relationships with partner associations, collective management organisations, and relevant institutions in Switzerland and abroad.
Member management and support
- Ensure member follow-up, process membership applications, and develop relationships with existing members.
- Be the contact person for producers’ requests, needs, and concerns, and develop services and offers tailored to members.
Communication (French / German)
- Develop and implement the association’s communication strategy.
- Draft press releases, position statements, and other materials, and coordinate translations.
Your profile
- Experience in the associative field, advocacy, cultural policy, or management of comparable organisations.
- Ease in relations with authorities, political bodies, and institutional partners; excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Very good command of French and German; proficiency in English is an asset.
- A communicative, unifying, and committed personality, with a strategic vision and able to work independently.
- Assets include an established network in the Swiss film and audiovisual sector and experience managing a secretariat or an associative structure.
