The Department of General Internal Medicine (DAIM) is a clinical competence centre at three clinic locations in Bern (Beau-Site Clinic, Salem Hospital, Permanence Clinic) covering the entire spectrum of the discipline of General Internal Medicine and interdisciplinary clinical emergency medicine. The DAIM is a Category A training centre for General Internal Medicine, Category IV for outpatient medicine, and SGNOR Category 2 for clinical emergency medicine.

YOUR TASKS

• You take over the professional organisation and management of inpatients and care for internal medicine patients as well as those from invasive/surgical disciplines with comorbidities on the ward and IMC
• You ensure high-quality and patient-centred care and promote interdisciplinary collaboration
• You participate in the medical on-call service – without mandatory night presence
• You lead and support assistant doctors and students in training and further education
• You are responsible for medical performance recording, reporting, and optimise existing processes
• You are available as a contact person for consultations

YOUR PROFILE

• You hold a specialist title in General Internal Medicine or are close to completing the specialist title and possibly hold an additional specialist title in Infectiology, Nephrology, Cardiology or other subdisciplines
• You have experience in the diagnosis and therapy of complex internal medicine conditions
• You are an organisational talent for daily ward routine as well as team-oriented and communicative in interdisciplinary exchange
• You have a high sense of responsibility towards patients, assistant doctors and the entire organisation
• You are very empathetic in dealing with patients and relatives
• We value your conflict resolution skills, sense of responsibility and resilience
