Role:
As a network and security specialist, you are independently responsible for a cross-site IT and telecommunications landscape and ensure its security, stability and further development. Cyber security is at the centre: you renew, operate and maintain firewall, network and server infrastructures, evaluate and procure suitable hardware and software, and independently lead IT projects to success. You coordinate 3rd-level support with manufacturers and suppliers, document systems carefully and support the internal helpdesk and user training as needed. With your structured, solution-oriented working style and broad security know-how, you are a reliable technical key person.
Responsibilities:
You independently manage the IT and telecommunications system landscape of several locations with a focus on cyber security
You take on renewal, operation and maintenance of firewalls, networks and server infrastructures
You evaluate, procure and install hardware and software and independently lead IT projects
You coordinate 3rd-level support with suppliers and manufacturers and ensure sustainable solutions
You create and maintain instructions and system documentation
You also occasionally support the internal helpdesk at 2nd-level and train internal users
Qualifications:
You have completed IT training or have a comparable qualification
You bring several years of practical experience in procurement and configuration of firewalls, switches, internal networks, WLAN, site networking, Linux, zero-trust architecture, endpoint protection and cyber security
Ideally, you have experience with UTMs, VMware, Proxmox as well as operating an open-source-based mail server including mail security solutions
You work in a structured, independent and solution-oriented manner and convince as a reliable, responsible personality
You are open to new specialist areas, eager to learn and bring high initiative
You are resilient, flexible and helpful and have a confident command of German as well as good English
