The Department of Medicine (D-MED) consists of 14 medical and care units (12 medical services, 1 Investigation and Short Treatment Unit (UITB), and the Blood Transfusion Centre (CTS)) with the particularity of including technical platforms (such as interventional cardiology and digestive and pulmonary endoscopy), several treatment and care platforms (biological treatments, photopheresis and medical care), and 1 hospital and outpatient dialysis centre. There are 3 rehabilitation and reconditioning programmes. Furthermore, the medical and care activity is strongly dedicated to inpatients (9 care units, 160 beds) with internal consultants benefiting the patients managed by other medical departments.

The Directorate of Digital Transformation and AI (DTN-IA) designs, develops, integrates, provides and maintains the IT applications that enable the processing of information useful for the hospital’s activity, operation and management. It is also the directorate that holds final responsibility for the HUG information system infrastructure as well as the implementation of IT security policy. It defines the principles and application of enterprise architecture and deploys the IT security policy.

Within the IT team of the Department of Medicine, you are responsible for the proper use and functioning of the department’s own IT systems. You are also the primary contact who ensures the transmission of information to the DTN-IA regarding transversal software as well as interfaces with the department’s software.

You lead the Department of Medicine’s IT team composed of 5 people who work according to their skills as IT specialists, form designers in DPI, and data managers.

You ensure compliance with institutional directives within the scope of IT by working closely with the DTN-IA, the Biomedical and Equipment Service, the Real Estate Directorate, the purchasing centre, actively collaborating with suppliers, and managing certain projects in their entirety.

The IT team manages around eighty software applications specific to the department. This involves ensuring their installation, migration, compliance with HUG IT security, proper use by staff, and potential interfacing with other institutional software.

The Department of Medicine comprises 1,300 employees with needs for IT equipment (computers, printers, accessories, etc.) and telephony (phones, subscriptions, etc.). You assess these needs taking into account the required cost-effectiveness.

The department’s IT team also manages the production deployment of new generic forms for clinical documentation in the DPI (Electronic Patient Record) application, as well as modifications to these forms.

You participate in numerous continuous improvement projects.

You take part in the permanent bodies of the DTN-IA and in institutional commissions or project groups.

You also ensure IT coordination in the department’s architectural projects.

You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science complemented by a DAS or MAS in Health Institution Management.

You have perfect command of the French language. You have knowledge of English or another language.

You have 3 to 5 years of prior experience in a similar position.

You possess tact, courtesy and a keen sense of interpersonal relations. You have strong stress resistance and recognised analytical ability.
