What you can achieve
- Review and process applications as well as issue weapon acquisition permits and firearm passes
- Review and grant weapon carrying and weapons trade permits as well as exemption permits
- Maintain, update and manage the cantonal weapons register as well as the federal weapons databases
- Conduct weapon carrying tests and audit bookkeeping at weapons dealers and large consumers of explosives
- Carry out legally required inspections of weapons and explosives legislation
- Issue orders and arrange confiscations based on weapons legislation
- Review applications and grant permits for the acquisition of explosives and the sale of pyrotechnic items
- Process legal assistance requests related to weapons and explosives legislation
What distinguishes you for this role
- Commercial basic training with several years of professional experience and/or Federal Diploma as a police officer
- Professional experience in police service or administration is an advantage
- High personal responsibility and a strong flair for information gathering
- Very high quality and sense of responsibility
- Resilient, efficient and flexible, even under high workload
- Very reliable, discreet and confidential
- Very good written and oral communication skills
- Confident IT user skills and affinity for digital working tools
- Good knowledge in the areas of weapons, explosives and pyrotechnics is an advantage
