The Hospital Hygiene Department of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Hospital Hygiene is responsible for monitoring and preventing hospital-acquired infections. In the area of Health Data Analytics of Hospital Hygiene / Infection Prevention, the development, maintenance, and further development of IT systems for monitoring process and outcome indicators is an important and essential task. The position is funded by third-party funds and limited to one year as an internship.

University Intern - Health Data Analyst 80-100%
from 11.1.2027, limited to one year
Your Tasks
- Support in data management: perform SQL queries from the Data Warehouse, structure and document data
- Participation in data classification, maintenance and assurance of data quality
- Support of senior physicians and specialist departments in operational data management tasks
- Exploratory data analyses and visualisations with Python or BI tools (e.g. Power BI)
- Participation in internal team meetings and professional exchange with clinic and IT
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Natural Sciences or a related field
- Interest in working with medical data and complex data structures
- Basic knowledge of statistics and machine learning is desirable
- No professional experience required; initial practical project experience (e.g. through internships or theses) is an advantage
- Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary team
- Analytical thinking, structured and precise working method
- Independence, willingness to learn and solution orientation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Very good German and English skills
- Good IT skills (SQL / Python / MS Office)
- Basic IT knowledge in BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) / in Git
