Role:
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced leader as Senior Project Manager Tunnel Construction / Underground Construction for complex national and international infrastructure projects. You will assume full technical and economic responsibility for demanding road tunnel and underground construction projects and oversee them through all SIA phases. You will lead interdisciplinary project teams, be responsible for technical concepts, project planning bases, and calculations, and apply modern planning methods such as BIM purposefully. This position is aimed at experienced civil engineers who manage large infrastructure projects and wish to take on additional leadership and management responsibilities in the future.
Responsibilities:
Overall responsible management of complex tunnel construction, underground construction, and infrastructure projects in technical, organisational, and economic terms
Control and handling of projects through all SIA phases from strategic planning and design to realisation and commissioning
Leadership and coordination of interdisciplinary project teams, specialist planners, and engineering consortia
Responsibility for costs, deadlines, quality, resources, and project risks within the assigned large projects
Technical leadership in the development of tunnel construction concepts, project planning bases, technical reports, and engineering calculations
Planning and assessment of demanding solutions for road tunnels, underground structures, and associated infrastructure facilities
Coordination of technical interfaces between tunnel construction, geotechnics, structural planning, traffic planning, and technical tunnel equipment
Use and further development of BIM and digital planning methods in complex infrastructure projects
Coordination with clients, authorities, project partners, specialist planners, and executing companies
Responsibility for project controlling, contract management, claims management, and technical quality assurance
Support in acquisitions, offers, and fee proposals as well as in acquiring and developing new infrastructure projects
Technical support and further development of project managers and engineers within the project team
Qualifications:
Completed studies as a Civil Engineer FH/ETH at Bachelor or Master level or comparable engineering qualification
At least 10 years of professional experience in civil engineering and infrastructure with corresponding seniority
Several years of experience in project management of complex infrastructure projects, ideally in tunnel or underground construction
Sound knowledge of SIA phases, Swiss standards, and project planning processes in infrastructure construction
Experience in the technical leadership of multidisciplinary project teams and engineering consortia
Knowledge of BIM, digital infrastructure planning, as well as cost, risk, and contract management is an advantage
Good to very good German language skills for project management, technical documentation, and collaboration with clients
