Qualifications and Characteristics
- Completed training in logistics or a similar field with further education as a customs specialist, export or foreign trade specialist with a federal diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of professional experience in logistics
- Negotiation-level German skills (C1), good English skills (B2) and French skills (B1) are an advantage
- Confident handling of MS Office and ERP systems (preferably SAP), user knowledge in transport or warehouse management systems as well as customs software (e.g. AEB, GTS)
- Willingness to travel about 10% for visits to logistics centres, for example, and a valid driving licence
- Sound knowledge of Swiss import/export customs clearance as well as in the area of origin, preferential law and free trade agreements
- Analytical and structured working style combined with a high sense of responsibility and strong communication skills in an international environment
About the Job
In this versatile role, you take responsibility for ensuring and further developing all import and export processes in Switzerland, consistently complying with national and international regulations. You are the internal and external contact person for customs matters, prepare origin and preference calculations, and use free trade agreements to optimise customs duties.
Your tasks include preparing and checking customs declarations as well as the operational control and optimisation of customs software solutions in close cooperation with internal interfaces and external partners. You prepare customs and compliance audits and support the development of our trade compliance management system.
Furthermore, you are responsible for the quality monitoring of our logistics services in your area: you schedule replenishment transports, identify deviations, conduct root cause analyses, and initiate appropriate measures to ensure 100% delivery capability. Regular audits in the logistics centres, close cooperation with the sales teams, and continuous process improvement complete your diverse range of tasks.
