Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional for the overall project management of demanding general contractor/subcontractor building construction projects in industrial, commercial and residential construction. You will be responsible for medium and large construction projects from design through tendering and awarding to turnkey realisation and will lead the responsible site managers professionally. The focus is on cost, schedule and quality management, subcontractor management as well as coordination of all project participants. Due to the regional nature of the projects, very good German and French language skills are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for the independent handling of medium and large general contractor/subcontractor building construction projects up to turnkey handover
Leadership and professional coordination of site managers and project teams within the assigned construction projects
Management of all project participants such as clients, specialist planners, authorities, subcontractors and suppliers
Responsibility for continuous cost, schedule, quality and performance control and ensuring the defined project objectives
Coordination and execution of tendering, submissions and awarding of all relevant subcontractor services
Conducting offer comparisons, award negotiations and contract agreements with subcontractors and suppliers
Management of planning, execution and trade interfaces and ensuring a coordinated construction process
Responsibility for project controlling, cost forecasts, change order management and change management
Leading project, coordination and construction meetings and following up on decisions, deadlines and pending issues
Monitoring construction execution and ensuring compliance with relevant SIA standards, Swiss building regulations and contracts
Coordination of acceptances, commissioning, defect rectification and project handover to the client
Preparation and maintenance of project status reports, schedules, cost overviews and decision bases
Qualifications:
Degree as civil engineer FH/ETH, certified site manager, certified technician HF or comparable construction technical qualification
Several years of professional experience in project and construction management of building construction projects, especially in general contractor/subcontractor and turnkey construction
Sound knowledge of Swiss construction processes and SIA standards as well as experience in tendering, awarding, cost and change order management
Experience in the professional leadership of site managers and project teams as well as willingness for project assignments within Switzerland
Good German and French language skills, spoken and written
