Senior Physician Interdisciplinary Emergency Medicine 60-90%

The emergency department at the Biel Hospital Centre is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for patients. Approximately 27,000 patients are treated annually. The emergency department is an SGNOR recognised training centre of class 2 for obtaining the specialisation in clinical emergency medicine and for general internal medicine category IV outpatient. Attached is also a modern emergency practice operated by emergency personnel. Furthermore, we provide training for the ultrasound certificates Abdomen and POCUS (thorax, emergency ultrasound, echocardiography).

Your tasks – our position

• Treatment of emergency patients in our lively and exciting emergency department in the role of emergency senior physician
• Integration into the interdisciplinary emergency team consisting of emergency senior physicians, rotating assistant physicians and rotating senior physicians, emergency nursing staff and junior assistant physicians as well as specialists from various subspecialties
• Assistance in the care, training and supervision of assistant physicians and junior assistant physicians

Your skills – our requirements

• The position is aimed at specialists in general internal medicine with a focus on clinical emergency medicine (or close to completion)
• Professional experience in Switzerland
• Advanced knowledge of emergency ultrasound
• Enjoyment of emergency medicine and high resilience
• Committed personality with motivation and initiative to significantly contribute to the further development of our emergency medicine in a changing environment
• Fluent language skills in German or French (spoken/written). Good knowledge of the other language at least level B1
