Senior Physician Role in Geriatrics (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF160,000 - 190,000Role:
In this position as a senior physician, you take on a central role in geriatric care and actively shape a broad spectrum from acute geriatrics, memory clinic, geriatric trauma care to long-term care. You are responsible for the high-quality care of geriatric patients and contribute your expertise to diverse interdisciplinary treatment processes. The senior physician role can be credited as further training towards the geriatrics specialty with Category A recognition, enabling targeted advanced specialisation. You benefit from close collaboration with general internal medicine and the opportunity to utilise a diverse range of training offerings specifically for your professional and personal development.
Responsibilities:
- You treat and care for patients on the acute geriatric ward as well as in the geriatric trauma centre of the Winterthur Cantonal Hospital.
- In this role, you take medical responsibility for residents in the Oberi and Adlergarten care homes within the home physician team.
- As a leader in internal medicine geriatrics, you teach and supervise assistant physicians.
- You participate in the in-house consultation service and support colleagues with geriatric expertise.
- In this role, you develop treatment concepts for multimorbid patients considering ethical and palliative care principles as well as the social environment.
- You contribute to the on-call service of the Adlergarten and Oberi care homes, ensuring continuous medical care.
Qualifications:
- Ideally, you have completed specialist training in general internal medicine or are close to completion and wish to obtain the geriatrics specialty title.
- You have an interest in geriatrics and the specific health challenges of older people and want to deepen your expertise in this field.
- You demonstrate commitment, resilience, and strong teamwork skills and possess high social competence.
- Very good German language skills, both spoken and written, are required.
- Flexibility and enjoyment of a collegial, interprofessional working environment complete your profile.
- You want to comprehensively apply and develop your skills and knowledge in an innovative healthcare environment.
