JOB DESCRIPTION: Management and Cleaning of Boarding Houses
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS OF THE POSITION
Responsibilities Understand and implement all school policies and procedures, especially those relating to child and youth protection. Understand the school’s guiding principles and uphold the school’s ethics at all times. Demonstrate kindness, attentiveness, dynamism, flexibility and respect. Maintain a high level of cleanliness. Manage your team. Train team members. Monitor work performed and provide feedback. Enforce the school’s guiding principles and uphold the school’s ethics at all times. Enforce common departmental rules (behaviour, skills and communication). Manage conflicts. Comply with and enforce cleaning procedures according to the taught method. Adhere to waste recycling rules.
Tasks in the houses: Tidy and thoroughly clean students’ rooms. Clean and disinfect toilets and bathrooms/showers and ensure they are always stocked. Clean and tidy all common areas (corridors, kitchen, dining room, games room, lounges, etc.). Monitor food and cleaning product stocks. Place product orders on the designated day. Clean the external areas adjacent to the building. Organise the sending of laundry. Clean the HP (houseparents) apartments once a week. Communicate regularly with HPs and supervisors. Ensure waste sorting and disposal.
Decision-making authority: Organise daily work and according to house activities. Develop the holiday plan for your team.
The indicative schedule for this full-time (40 hours) position may vary depending on the assigned duties: Monday to Friday: 6:30 am - 2:30 pm, 45-minute break. Saturday: 7:00 am - 10:45 am.
Hours and percentage may be modified by the Head Housekeeper according to needs, and other tasks may be requested of the employee, such as cleaning offices or classrooms. An adequate level of spoken and written French as well as basic cleaning knowledge and the ability to use a computer at a basic level are required.
