Mandatory Nursing Internship in Psychosomatics

for medical students at the University of Bern

In psychosomatic medicine, we specialise in stress and pain disorders as well as functional neurological disorders. We also support people with eating disorders. We place great importance on personalised care. In this exciting field of work, we offer a 4-week nursing internship in accordance with the requirements of the University of Bern, Bachelor of Human Medicine programme.

What to expect

You are a medical student at the University of Bern and are completing a 4-week nursing internship as a prerequisite for admission to the 2nd year of study. The internship must be completed without interruption at a 100% employment level.

What you bring

• Passed aptitude test for medical studies in Switzerland (EMS) or enrolment at the University of Bern, Bachelor in Human Medicine
• Interest in gaining insight into the areas of responsibility of health and nursing care
• Motivation and initiative to achieve your learning goals
• Willingness to apply newly acquired skills in everyday life
• Empathy to care for our patients and their relatives
