Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for a Junior Construction Manager Building Construction for the realisation of diverse new build, conversion, and renovation projects in the greater Zurich area. Under the professional guidance of an experienced project manager, you will gradually take on the independent supervision and coordination of construction sites and develop specifically into professional construction management. You will deal with costs, deadlines, execution quality, and occupational safety and coordinate craftsmen and executing companies on site. The position offers an attractive entry opportunity into construction management and construction administration, especially for professionals from craft or construction-technical professions.
Responsibilities:
Gradual assumption of independent construction management of building, conversion, and renovation projects under the guidance of an experienced project manager
Coordination and supervision of craftsmen, contractors, and individual trades on the construction site
Support in the creation and monitoring of construction schedules and timelines
Participation in ongoing cost controlling as well as checking measurements, extra work, and contractor services
Monitoring of execution quality and checking work based on plans, contracts, and technical specifications
Coordination of interfaces between architecture, building services, and finishing trades
Participation in construction and coordination meetings as well as management of pending tasks and site documentation
Support with acceptances, defect inspections, and handovers as well as follow-up on defect rectification
Ensuring occupational safety, order, and site organisation within own area of responsibility
Application and deepening of relevant SIA standards, construction processes, and contract basics in daily project work
Building expertise in construction administration, cost management, and digital site documentation
Qualifications:
Completed apprenticeship as bricklayer EFZ, carpenter EFZ, electrician EFZ, building services planner EFZ, draughtsman EFZ specialising in architecture or comparable construction-related training
Several years of practical professional experience in the learned construction, finishing, or building services profession
Interest in further development towards construction management, ideally with planned further training as construction manager or technician HF
Good technical understanding of construction processes, execution details, and trade interfaces
Good user knowledge of Microsoft 365 and interest in digital construction administration and project management systems
Willingness to specifically build knowledge in cost, schedule, and quality management as well as SIA standards
Very good German language skills spoken and written
