An internationally active company in the logistics sector specialising in innovative solutions in rail freight transport. The focus is on providing and managing freight wagons as well as on efficient and sustainable transport solutions in Europe.

Role:

As a Controller at our ROCKEN partner, you will manage budgeting and prepare regular forecasts together with the business units. With analyses, scenarios and business cases, you support operations and sales in economic decisions. You create transparency about business development and the market environment and further develop reporting as well as digital controlling tools. The position is available immediately or by arrangement.

Responsibilities:

• You manage the group’s annual budgeting process and prepare regular forecasts together with the business units.

• You compare planned values with actual results, analyse deviations and derive concrete insights for corporate management from scenario calculations.

• You prepare and further develop the monthly performance reporting together with operations and sales, making revenues, costs and relevant key figures transparent.

• In the monthly market monitoring, you classify developments in the industry, market and economy in terms of their significance for the company.

• You accompany operations and sales as a business management sparring partner and support decisions with short-term analyses, profitability calculations and business cases.

• You optimise planning, controlling and reporting processes and drive their automation forward.

• You further develop existing reports and dashboards in Power BI and improve data preparation as well as data quality.

• You identify and utilise meaningful applications of artificial intelligence to make controlling more efficient.

Qualifications:

• A completed degree in business administration, finance or controlling or a comparable higher education forms your professional basis.

• You bring several years of experience in controlling or a comparable business management function as well as sound knowledge in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial analyses.

• You combine analytical, conceptual and entrepreneurial thinking with a good understanding of operational and commercial business processes.

• You are proficient in Excel and independently create and develop planning and evaluation models.

• You have a strong affinity for IT and an interest in digitalisation, automation and artificial intelligence. Practical experience with Power BI or comparable BI applications is an advantage.

• Your working style is independent, structured and proactive. In a small, agile organisation, you gladly take on responsibility and communicate complex contexts clearly.

• Very good German skills and good English skills enable you to work closely with the various business units.
