Finance Specialist with FA (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF90,000 - 105,000Role:
In this role, you will dive deep into the exciting financial world of a versatile public organisation and ensure that all financial threads come together professionally. You take on the specialist responsibility in finance and ensure correct, transparent, and efficient handling of financial processes. As deputy head of finance, you contribute significantly to the management and further development of the finance department and take on the leadership of financial affairs in representation. You analyse complex financial data, prepare decision-making bases, and actively bring your expertise into cross-departmental issues. You use your experience to optimise processes and ensure sustainable financial stability.
Responsibilities:
- You carry out monthly and quarterly postings, reconciliations, and settlements for the municipality, utilities, and reformed church community (including VAT, withholding tax, KliB, current accounts, and taxes).
- In this role, you read invoices, check them, and post settlements for day-care centres as well as school and ski camps in the education sector.
- You support the accounts payable department of the utilities and ensure correct and timely processing.
- As deputy head of finance, you participate in the accounts receivable department of the utilities and contribute to efficient collection processes.
- You manage loss certificates and support budget preparation, year-end closing tasks, and the implementation of ICS controls.
- In this role, you create and post general ledger entries, ensuring reliable financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- You have a commercial basic education, ideally with a Zurich city or municipal administration.
- You possess solid expertise in accounting and financial and management accounting.
- You have completed or are completing further training in finance (e.g., specialist in finance and accounting with a federal certificate or Professional Bachelor).
- You are numerically inclined, interested in financial legal issues, and have a holistic way of thinking.
- You work independently, precisely, reliably, and efficiently and gladly take on responsibility with high discretion.
- Very good IT user skills (MS Office, ideally ABACUS) complete your profile.
