In this role, you develop and optimise control software for complex machine and automation systems and accompany their implementation through to successful commissioning. You create technical foundations, define quality requirements, and ensure that hardware and software solutions function reliably. With your understanding of PLC, motion control, and HMI systems, you actively contribute to the further development of modern automation solutions.
Responsibilities:
Creation of specification sheets, maintenance documents, and technical maintenance documentation
Review and assessment of execution documents such as electrical designs, circuit diagrams, and technical schematics
Development, adaptation, and optimisation of PLC software solutions based on Siemens technologies
Programming and integration of SIMATIC, SINAMICS, and HMI systems
Implementation of functions in the area of motion control, drive technology, and machine controls
Definition and elaboration of requirements for sustainable quality assurance and testing processes
Execution of commissioning, tests, and functional checks on automated systems
Analysis and optimisation of control sequences in collaboration with internal specialist departments
Support in the technical further development of machines and automation solutions
Qualifications:
Completed STEM degree (BSc/HF) or comparable technical training in automation, electrical engineering, or related fields
Solid knowledge in PLC programming as well as in modern automation architectures
Experience with Siemens SIMATIC, SINAMICS, and WinCC or comparable control and visualisation systems
Knowledge in the field of motion & drives and understanding of automated machine processes
Good technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and physical interrelations
Ability to implement complex technical requirements in a structured manner
Independent, precise, and responsible working style
Enjoyment of analytical problem-solving and continuous improvement
Willingness to collaborate in interdisciplinary project teams
Good English skills for technical documentation and international collaboration
Fluent German skills
