On behalf of our client – an established and modern Swiss service company in the heart of Bern – we are looking for an ambitious, service-oriented Senior Finance and Accounting Specialist (80–100%).
In this role, you take on a central interface function within the team. In addition to demanding specialist tasks, excellent prospects are offered to grow with your responsibilities and gradually take on extended duties (e.g. technical deputy and prospects for future leadership roles).
Your main tasks
Finance and Accounting: Responsibility for client accounting as well as independent preparation of monthly, quarterly, trimester, and annual financial statements (according to Swiss GAAP FER and OR).
FP&A & Reporting: Active participation in the budgeting process, preparation of variance analyses, and compilation of reports for management.
Process & System Optimisation: Analysis, development, and digital optimisation of internal financial processes and the ERP system.
Technical Support: Taking on coordination tasks, quality assurance, and supporting the department management in daily operations.
Contact person for stakeholders: Advising and supporting internal and external clients with a strong service orientation.
Qualifications
What you bring (Must-Haves)
Education: Federal diploma in finance and accounting, business economist (HF/FH), or ongoing/planned studies (further education actively supported).
Expertise: Solid, several years of practical experience in financial statement assurance according to Swiss GAAP FER and OR.
IT Skills: Proficient use of Abacus ERP and very good MS Excel skills are required.
Mindset & Ambition: Strong affinity for numbers, hands-on mentality, and a pronounced motivation to advance personally and professionally and gradually grow into a higher role (e.g. department management).
Industry Plus: Experience in project environments (e.g. architecture, engineering, consulting, or construction) is an advantage but not a must.
Languages: Confident German skills in spoken and written form.
Exciting development opportunities: Plenty of room for initiative, professional deepening, and the prospect of gradually taking on leadership and coordination responsibilities.
Attractive working conditions: Flexible working hours (flexitime), 1–2 days home office (by arrangement), as well as compensable bridge days and company holidays between Christmas and New Year.
Holidays & Extras: 5 weeks holiday (6 weeks from age 50), performance bonuses, and travel discounts (half-fare card / GA).
Targeted support: Generous assistance with external training and further education (financially and timewise).
Top workplace: Modern premises in immediate proximity to Bern main station.
