About the job
The Hospitals of Schaffhausen include the Cantonal Hospital, the Psychiatric Services, the Radiology and Cardiology Posthof Neuhausen practices, as well as the Neurology Practice Schaffhausen Centre. With over 1,700 employees, we ensure the extended medical and nursing basic care of the Schaffhausen region. Annually, we care for around 11,000 inpatients and 90,000 outpatients. Additionally, we are an important training institution in the canton.
We are looking for you for the Anaesthesia department from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement as a Senior Physician / Consultant with a workload of 80-100%.
Anaesthesia, as part of the Medical Service Centres, performs around 6,500 anaesthesias annually across a broad professional spectrum. With a 24-hour specialist presence system (shift operation), we ensure anaesthesiological care in the operating theatre, intensive care unit, delivery room, emergency department, and during resuscitations.

What Awaits You
- Very well-attended pain consultation in a team of two to three pain specialists with a high proportion of invasive pain therapy including implantation of neurostimulators
- Anaesthesiological spectrum of a medium-sized cantonal hospital including obstetrics with possible part-time deployment in anaesthesia including duty system
- Training of our assistant doctors
- Assumption of professional departmental responsibilities
- If interested, deployment as an emergency doctor SGNOR or equivalent

What You Bring to Us
- Specialist in Anaesthesiology, recognised in Switzerland
- Proven qualification in invasive pain therapy or already advanced training level in this field
- Interest in further developing the well-established pain therapy in the canton and possibly leading it in the near future
- Understanding and interest in lived quality in the areas of medicine, medical economics, medical processes, patient contact, stakeholder management, and team
- Willingness to constructively accompany the Hospitals of Schaffhausen in the transformation process around the new hospital building
