Location: Monthey, Switzerland
Contract: Permanent
Attached to the Maintenance & Engineering department, you hold a key position as an Automation Technician / Maintenance Technician at the Monthey site. At the crossroads between field troubleshooting, industrial electricity, and process automation, you provide essential support to daily operations while ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimisation of the site’s equipment.
Your main responsibilities
Technical Expertise & Operational MaintenancePreventive & corrective maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning and availability of electrical installations and automated systems.
Diagnosis & Faults: Analyse, identify and quickly resolve malfunctions (electricity, PLCs, sensors) to minimise production downtime.
Projects & Improvement: Actively participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and technical modifications on site.
Emergency interventions: Carry out troubleshooting, repair, and restoration work in direct support of production teams.
Procedures & Follow-up: Diligently complete intervention reports in the CMMS and ensure precise technical follow-up.
Technical interface: Coordinate activities with internal teams (Production, Engineering) and external contractors/suppliers.
Safety & Standards: Ensure strict compliance with current regulations, site safety standards, and EHS rules.
Documentary rigour: Update electrical diagrams, technical documentation, and guarantee the conformity of interventions.
Cross-functionality: Maintain transparent communication and strong partnership with all site stakeholders.
Profile sought
Education & Experience: Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as Automation Technician, Electrician, or equivalent technical qualification. Solid practical experience in industrial equipment maintenance and mastery of Swiss environmental and professional safety standards.
Technical Expertise: Strong skills in automation, industrial electricity, reading/interpreting diagrams, and fault diagnosis methodology.
Tools & Systems: Proficiency with CMMS tools (SAP or equivalent) and sensitivity to continuous improvement and safety approaches.
Personal qualities: Autonomy, rigour, proactive field approach, analytical mindset, and responsiveness to unforeseen events.
Interpersonal & Team Spirit: Smooth communication, good interpersonal skills, and ease working within a multidisciplinary team.
Languages: Fluent French (working language) and knowledge of technical English (an asset).
