Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional for the construction management of demanding general contractor/subcontractor building construction projects in industrial, commercial, and residential construction. You will take operational responsibility for construction execution and ensure compliance with costs, deadlines, quality, and performance specifications. The focus is on subcontractor coordination, tendering and awarding, construction scheduling, and execution control. In close coordination with project management, you will independently handle parts of larger construction projects within the German-speaking part of Switzerland.
Responsibilities:
Independent construction management of general contractor/subcontractor building construction projects in industrial, commercial, and residential construction
Continuous monitoring and control of costs, deadlines, quality, quantity, and construction progress
Coordination and leadership of subcontractors, suppliers, specialist planners, and other project participants
Support in the preparation of tenders and specifications for subcontractor services
Conducting offer comparisons and support in awarding decisions and contract negotiations
Independent handling of defined project and trade areas in coordination with overall project management
Planning and coordination of construction processes, contractor appointments, and execution interfaces
Conducting site, execution, and quality controls as well as documenting identified deviations
Review of quantities, contractor invoices, change orders, and extra work
Organisation and conduct of construction meetings as well as follow-up on pending issues and agreed measures
Conducting acceptances and defect management until successful completion and handover
Ensuring construction execution in accordance with relevant SIA standards, Swiss building regulations, and contracts
Qualifications:
Degree as civil engineer FH/ETH, certified construction manager, certified technician HF or comparable construction technical qualification
At least 3 years of professional experience in construction management in building construction, ideally with general contractor/subcontractor projects
Sound knowledge in construction execution, tendering, awarding, subcontractor management, and cost control
Knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss construction processes as well as willingness for site assignments within the German-speaking part of Switzerland
Very good German language skills, spoken and written
