As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, we are currently looking for a motivated and dedicated DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer for a temporary assignment of 12 months, with high probability of extension.
The company features a specialized team of Linux SW and HW Experts providing a Debian-based Roche Linux distribution along with know-how, expertise, and support to various Roche medical devices. The company is currently looking for an experienced DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen the team. The ideal candidate is excited about new technologies and loves challenges. In this role, the candidate will be a core contributor and consultant, ensuring the Roche Linux platform is robust, secure, and perfectly tailored to the demanding world of MedTech.
The perfect candidate is an Infrastructure Engineer with 8+ years of experience building and managing scalable infrastructure and user-facing services. They have strong collaboration skills, work effectively with software developers and solution engineers, and can communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required. English fluency is essential, German is a plus.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Contribute to RLX infrastructure from all the way to hardware and physical network to building and maintaining on-premises HA clusters with all their infrastructure services
- Select, order, assemble and integrate hardware for the infrastructure
- Contribute to the RLX hardware in the loop testing infrastructure
- Create and operate the platform for high level services (build servers, ci runners, artifact repositories)
- Integrate the infrastructure with external dependencies (compute, storage, network provided by the company and facilities available on site, and also with service dependencies, such as GitLab, GitHub, Artifactory, Slack)
- Create declarative infrastructure as code solution for infrastructure management
- Build and maintain monitoring, alerting and inventory management services
- Provide a platform for developer self service, that allows devs to experiment or solution engineers to take over a hardware in a loop device for debugging and testing
- Design a lifecycle management solution for the infrastructure and the hardware in the loop hardware components
- Design, implement, test and maintain the backup, emergency and disaster recovery procedures for the infrastructure and the services
- Manage the cloud infrastructure
- Integrate cloud and on premises infrastructure and services
- Design, build and maintain pipelines (GitHub)
Must-Haves
- 8+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or a related field
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline
- Proven track record of designing, building, and operating infrastructure platforms from the ground up, including user-facing services and production environments
- Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, reliability, security, and operational excellence
- Experience collaborating closely with Software Engineers, Solution Architects, Product and Platform teams, and customer-facing technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, drive infrastructure improvements, and influence engineering best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in Virtualization / Container technologies, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with cloud providers (e.g. AWS) and IaC (e.g. Terraform)
- Experience in Embedded Software, Hardware Drivers, ARM Platform, hardware / software integration
- German language skills are a plus, but not required
