About the job

The Bern Historical Museum is one of the most important cultural history museums in Switzerland. It is a growing repository of knowledge and experience for the culture and history of Bern and the world. The collections on history, archaeology, and ethnography comprise around 567,000 objects. They offer insights into living environments from different historical periods and cultural contexts.

In a partnership with the Swiss National Bank, the Bern Historical Museum has designed and realised the Moneyverse . Opened on 10 April 2026 and located in the heart of the city of Bern, the Moneyverse revolves around one of humanity’s most significant inventions: money. 

The Bern Historical Museum is responsible for the operation and thus the mediation as well as the continuous development of the offer.
We are looking for a

Host at the Moneyverse in the Kaiserhaus Bern 50–55 %

Are you passionate about lively mediation and a lived culture of welcome? Are you curious about economic contexts and show great interest in monetary policy topics?
At the Moneyverse, you actively shape encounters with our guests, convey content about money in an engaging way, and ensure that visitors feel welcome from the very first moment.

Your main tasks

  • Conducting thematic introductions, interactive tours, and other mediation formats for groups and schools
  • Promoting dialogue and engagement with exhibition topics
  • Welcoming, informing, and advising visitors
  • Supporting the operation of the Moneyverse and events
  • Co-responsibility for safety, technology, and exhibition rooms

Requirements

You have a completed or ongoing degree (MA level) in education, cultural mediation, economics, communications, social sciences, or humanities. You bring proven experience in mediation and enjoy exchanging with different target groups. You convince through communication skills, teamwork, and resilience. Very good German and French skills are part of your qualifications, as well as secure knowledge of another language (English or Italian). Flexibility for assignments on different weekdays, willingness for regular weekend and occasional evening shifts, as well as an independent working style complete your profile.
