Team Leader Finance & Payroll (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF110,000 - 120,000Role:
For a traditional Swiss family business in road and civil engineering in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley, we are looking for an experienced finance professional who combines responsibility for figures with leadership and payroll expertise. The corporate group employs around 70 people and has been regionally established for over 80 years. In addition to road and civil engineering, recycling, landfill management and other construction-related activities are part of the business environment.
In this key position, you are responsible together with your team for a reliable finance and payroll process across several companies. At the same time, you are close to the operational business, support management with meaningful financial information and continuously develop existing processes and systems.

Responsibilities:
You lead the finance and payroll area both professionally and organisationally and further develop the employees in your area of responsibility.
You keep an overview of the ongoing financial accounting of several companies and ensure high quality of financial data.
You prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and coordinate cooperation with external fiduciary and audit offices.
Accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment transactions and dunning are reliably handled by you or your team.
You create financial analyses, cost centre and results overviews and prepare relevant key figures for management.
You further develop budgeting, liquidity planning and interim forecasts together with management.
At the same time, you ensure correct monthly payroll processing for several companies.
Payroll changes, withholding taxes, family allowances and social insurance accounting are fully and punctually processed in your area. The existing payroll organisation works with Sorba.
In cases of accidents, illness and other insurance matters, you ensure professional handling and coordinate the relevant external parties.
You are a competent contact person for management, executives and employees on finance and payroll-related questions.
You review existing processes, controls and interfaces and actively drive their digitalisation and automation.
In the further development of the ERP landscape and commercial systems, you contribute your finance perspective. The existing environment includes Abacus and Sorba.
Qualifications:
Commercial basic training with advanced training in finance and accounting
Ideally a professional certificate in finance and accounting or a comparable higher qualification
Several years of professional experience in a broadly based finance function
Very good knowledge of financial accounting and periodic closing work
Solid experience in payroll accounting and Swiss social insurance
First leadership experience or clear motivation to take on professional and personnel responsibility
Experience from an SME, family business or corporate group is particularly welcome
Industry knowledge from construction, crafts or a project-oriented environment is a plus
Knowledge of Abacus and/or Sorba is advantageous
Good Excel skills and affinity for digital finance and payroll processes
Entrepreneurial thinking and interest in understanding the operational business behind the figures
Independent, structured and reliable working style
Down-to-earth and communicative personality who works on an equal footing with management and administration as well as with employees from the operational construction site environment
