Our client, a Geneva-based private bank, is looking for a Sanctions Specialist to strengthen its Compliance function.
Description
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day sanctions-related matters across the bank.
- Conduct sanctions reviews, investigations and risk assessments on clients, transactions and counterparties.
- Review and analyse sanctions screening alerts.
- Provide expert guidance on international sanctions regimes, including OFAC, EU, UK, SECO and UN sanctions.
- Identify, assess and mitigate sanctions-related risks.
- Advise Front Office and control functions on sanctions compliance matters.
- Contribute to the enhancement of sanctions policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Escalate and present sensitive cases to the Head of Compliance, Legal and Executive Committee when required.
- Monitor regulatory developments and emerging sanctions risks.
- Deliver training and awareness initiatives on sanctions compliance topics.
Profile
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of dedicated sanctions experience, preferably within private banking, wealth management or financial services.
- Previous experience within Compliance is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of international sanctions frameworks.
- Hands-on professional capable of operating independently.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and management.
- Flexible, responsive and comfortable taking ownership of complex matters.
- Fluent in French, English - Russian a big plus.
