Job Description
Reporting to the IT Manager, the essential functions of the position include:
- Replacing the Manager during their absence.
- Handling tasks assigned by the IT Manager.
- Ensuring the continuous operation of the hotel’s systems, including but not limited to network infrastructure, applications, software, and servers.
- Providing availability (on-call) in case of technical emergencies or critical incidents to guarantee 24/7 operational continuity if necessary.
- Complying with the IT security policy regarding hardware, software, and data confidentiality.
- Troubleshooting issues on various software, CRM applications, and other hotel systems.
- Providing top-level technical support for all internal staff and clients, ensuring quick and effective resolution of daily IT problems.
- Supporting staff (60% of the time) and clients (20% of the time) at the IT level.
- Coordinating IT projects with the IT Manager.
- Creating procedures and documentation for IT systems.
- Ensuring proper backup of all data.
- Training staff on the use of IT systems and software.
- Analyzing software and hardware problems to detect/correct deficiencies, malfunctions, and irregularities.
- Ensuring compliance with established procedures, system security, internal controls, and standards.
- Staying informed about the latest technologies available on the market.
- Ensuring data confidentiality and data processing according to group standards and policies and legal norms.
- Respecting ergonomic work standards in health & safety rules as well as Fairmont standards.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience: 6 years of experience related to the IT field (including apprenticeship).
Languages: Mastery of the French language and very good knowledge of English.
Education: Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (CFC) in IT or technical diploma in a related discipline, as well as certifications in the field.
Technical Skills:
- Management of network infrastructure, servers, cloud, and APIs.
- Knowledge of fiber optic connections, Ethernet, and patching (patch panel).
- Level 1 and 2 support.
- Understanding of hotel applications (Opera, etc.) is an asset.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Particularly responsible, reliable, and autonomous.
Great flexibility and availability to respond to operational emergencies.
- Strong stress resistance.
- Ability to focus attention on guests’ needs while remaining calm and courteous at all times.
- Proven ability to provide proactive and reactive assistance (software, network connectivity, access management).
- Innate sense of help and service, team spirit, and ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously (multitasking).

To work in Switzerland, the candidate must possess a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
