For a modern IT environment, a committed individual is sought as a PostgreSQL Database Engineer. In this position, you take responsibility for the reliable operation, performance and further development of database systems and work closely with development and IT operations.
You manage databases throughout their entire lifecycle – from installation and configuration to monitoring and optimisation to migrations and updates. At the same time, you ensure secure data storage and reliable backup and recovery processes.
Responsibilities:
Installation, configuration, updating and administration of PostgreSQL databases
Monitoring database performance as well as analysing and optimising queries
Planning, implementing and regularly testing backup and disaster recovery concepts
Managing user accounts and permissions as well as ensuring database security
Analysing and resolving performance issues and technical faults
Planning and executing database migrations and updates as well as maintaining technical documentation
Qualifications:
Initial practical experience in administering PostgreSQL databases
Interest in or initial experience with CloudSQL and cloud-based database solutions
Essential practical experience with Linux and IT operations
Analytical and communication skills as well as a structured approach to problem-solving
High willingness to learn and interest in new technologies
Confident German language skills and good English skills
