System Engineer Network & Security (m/f/d)
Our ROCKEN partner is a thriving, internationally active company with around 330 employees that manufactures high-quality products and services for the construction of electric motors and transformers. Approximately 80 percent of these are exported. Stator and rotor sheets are stamped from electrical steel and assembled into ready-to-install stator and rotor packages using the processes of stamping, welding, baking, riveting, and clamping. In further steps, the rotors are cast in aluminium and the rotor shaft is pressed in.
Role:
In this role, you actively shape modern IT and security landscapes and ensure that networks remain stable, secure, and future-proof. You take responsibility for the network, system, and security setup, thinking holistically in interconnected structures. You contribute your technical know-how and sustainably influence the further development of the solutions used. You help to ensure high-quality IT services and consistently implement security requirements. With your commitment, you support the construction and operation of a reliable, secure, and efficient ICT infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- You operate, design, and further develop our network and server infrastructure (Cisco, Aruba, Sophos)
- In this role, you engineer WAN/LAN/WLAN/VLAN structures, firewalls, DMZ, and VPN
- As an ICT Network System Security Engineer, you operate and expand the virtualised server environment (VMware)
- You implement security policies and technical designs and contribute to awareness training and security concepts
- In this role, you secure the infrastructure according to ISO/IATF/TISAX requirements and support the establishment of an ISMS
- As an ICT Network System Security Engineer, you work with modern security tools such as Tenable Nessus, SentinelOne, Claroty xDome, as well as common encryption technologies
Qualifications:
- You have training in IT system technology or platform development EFZ or a higher professional qualification (HF/FH)
- You have a solid basic understanding of network engineering and are interested in this area
- Ideally, you bring experience in a production or industrial environment
- You have experience or a strong motivation in IT security and network design
- You are familiar with Cisco, Aruba, firewalling, VLAN, and routing and have experience with Microsoft Server (Windows, Exchange, SQL, ADFS), preferably also Linux
- You work independently, in a structured and solution-oriented manner, are communicative, gladly take on responsibility, and are not deterred by on-call duty and planned deployments
